Activated Charcoal: A Natural Detox Ally

First and foremost, let me emphasize that this is not medical advice in any way. I always recommend that you consult your doctor before making any changes to your diet or health.

Activated charcoal has a long history and has been used for over 10,000 years in Chinese medicine. It is also used in Western medicine today.

The process of making activated charcoal involves heating wood or coconut to high temperatures to create a porous structure and remove oxygen, which increases its adsorption capacity.

Adsorption is the key here, not absorption. It means that the charcoal particles bind to substances in the body and draw them out through the intestinal or skin systems.

Activated charcoal can bind to unwanted substances in the body, such as mold spores, heavy metals, and toxins, thanks to its negative charge that attracts positively charged substances.

It is effective in relieving symptoms such as bloating after meals or gas formation from food intolerance or an excess of toxins.

Industrially, activated charcoal has even been used to compensate for low-quality animal feed by being mixed in to reduce the risk of disease in animals.

Of course, it's important that animals receive proper nutrition and are treated well. However, this shows the potential for activated charcoal to reduce exposure to toxins.

In healthcare, activated charcoal is used in cases of drug overdose to reduce absorption in the body and protect the liver.

It is also a useful product to have at home, especially for parents of young children, to handle cases of poisoning by giving the child a gel form of activated charcoal to quickly bind to toxins.

Besides internal uses, activated charcoal is also popular in beauty products like face masks and shampoos to draw out toxins and cleanse the skin.

Using activated charcoal for oral health is also common as it can help naturally whiten teeth and fight bacteria. Activated charcoal is a versatile natural solution for purifying the body and improving health in many different ways. But as always, it is important to use it with care and advice from a professional healthcare provider.

Studies show that animals given a low dose of activated charcoal daily throughout their lifetime live 34% longer than other animals that do not receive activated charcoal. I recommend people take activated charcoal as long as they have toxins in them. Today, society always has toxins because we have built up a society that is exposed to more toxins than we have ever been before.

One can take a whole jar of activated charcoal every day without it being harmful to the body. Possibly, it could harm the wallet, but then you have to choose what is rightest, the wallet or health. If you go to a hospital, you will get up to 100 grams or even more sometimes of activated charcoal in you. It does not cause major damage to the body to do it that way.

The only side effect that may occur is that one may become constipated because activated charcoal also binds to fluids in the body. Make sure you drink enough to pass your stools when the body is done with them. If more is needed, you can use magnesium. Specifically for constipation, I recommend magnesium citrate.

I always think that one should take some form of magnesium so that you get the other positive effects of magnesium. But if you get a little constipated, start taking magnesium citrate to resolve it. Then try to find a balance where you can take activated charcoal but still not get constipated. Combining it with a form of ascorbate also works to have this relaxing effect and ensure you do not become constipated.

Do not forget to drink water so that your body has enough water in its system to filter through the walls. It is said that one should take activated charcoal away from food and away from other medications. Away from other medications, I think you can stick to. But there is nothing that says that one would get any form of nutritional deficiencies if one takes activated charcoal for a long time or close to their meals.

These courses that are used in industries get activated charcoal even mixed into their food so that they eat it at the same time as they receive their nutrition. Studies are showing that sheep that have eaten 30% of the mass they consumed each day is activated charcoal. One cannot read off any difference that it would be harmful or that they had received any form of nutritional deficiencies over several years. On the safe side wait at least an hour after you have eaten before you take activated charcoal. And take activated charcoal an hour before you plan to eat next time.

Activated charcoal is as close to a miracle medicine as we get. I highly recommend that this is a daily part of people's dietary supplement habits because it makes such a huge difference not to have toxins in oneself. Every time that you have more toxins in you than what your body can handle, your body will need to spend unnecessary energy trying to detox these toxins. Energy that you could have used to start a project that you enjoy or be motivated for something else or play with your children. Perform your work better or keep your mood in the right place.

With that said, I strongly recommend taking activated charcoal daily.
